People's Republic of Bangladesh (Bengali: গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ, Gaṇaprajātantrī bānlādēśa) is a country in South Asia bordered by India to the west, north, and east, Myanmar on the southeast, and the Bay of Bengal to the south. Bangladesh, along with West Bengal in India, forming ethno-linguistic region of Bengal. Bangladesh (বাংলাদেশ) literally means "Country of Bangla". The capital and largest city of Bangladesh is Dhaka.
